A Steady Place to Land

There are times when life feels heavier than it should… when thoughts loop, emotions feel difficult to manage, or something unresolved continues to surface.

Counselling offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin to respond in a different way.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

At Aspen Counselling, the process is grounded in a compassionate, collaborative approach. Together, we work to better understand your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and begin to build the internal resources needed to move through life in a way that is more authentic to who you are.

What counselling can support

Through the counselling process, you may begin to:

  • Develop greater emotional awareness and regulation
  • Understand patterns of thought that contribute to anxiety or low mood
  • Build practical tools for coping with stress and overwhelm
  • Process past experiences that continue to impact the present
  • Strengthen your sense of self and personal direction

Over time, this can create a deeper sense of alignment — with yourself, your values, and how you move through the world.

Approach

Tanya offers a holistic and integrative approach to counselling, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic frameworks and years of clinical experience.

Her work is particularly informed by a strong understanding of trauma and anxiety, with specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Somatics.

At the core of her practice is the belief that meaningful change begins with awareness—and that within a supportive therapeutic relationship, people are capable of profound growth.

Working Together

The counselling relationship is an important part of the process.

Tanya brings a warm, steady, and non-judgmental presence to her work, creating a space where you can explore your thoughts and experiences at your own pace. The process is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to your individual needs.

Sessions are available in person in the Cowichan Valley, as well as by phone or video.

Coverage for Counselling Costs:

Tanya is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC. The fees for working with Tanya may be covered by your extended health benefits provider.
